Rickey was on active duty in the Army from 1990-1993, and served during the Gulf War as a Combat Medical Specialist. He continued to work in the medical field after his service, later becoming involved in the landscape industry as a selaseperson, landscape designer, client service and marketing manager before deciding to join the world of real estate.
A certified general real estate appraiser in five states, Rickey has been involved in real estate since 2004. He has been a specialist on eminent domain, litigation work and appraisal reviews for many years. Rickey is also a certified expert witness in matters pertaining to real estate in multiple jurisdictions, and holds the CREA and CCRA designations from the National Association of Real Estate Appraisers. In January 2017 Rickey was appointed by the Governor to the Virginia Real Estate Appraiser Board.
As a Realtor, Rickey feels that this knowledge and experience allows him to help his clients truly understand the value of the homes they are buying or selling. His experience as an appraiser not only helps him to understand the market better, but allows him the confidence to provide expert information on pricing a home to sell quickly. Buyers will find that Rickey can assist them with finding a home at a fair price that will prove to be a good investment over time.
Rickey is the proud father of two amazing daughters. Karrie, who attends Courtland High School, is an accomplished gymnast and has a varsity letter for cheer and academics. Izabelle has performed with the Moscow Ballet at the George Mason Performing Arts Center and the Cincinnati Ballet at the Kennedy Center.
Rickey feels that giving back to his community is also important. In his “spare time”, he is a member of the Spotsylvania County Board of Zoning Appeals and the American Legion. He looks forward to helping clients realize their real estate dreams!
