Geographic Location

Warrenton, VA is located 40 miles west of DC and is the gateway to the upper Piedmont region, just east of the Bull Ridge Mountains. Major routes leading here include US Route 15/29, Route 17 and US Route 211 with plenty of back roads meandering through the countryside. Rich in American history, the town of Warrenton was named for General Joseph Warren, a revolutionary war hero.

Bright eyed children roll in behind Santa’s sleigh, excited to whisper their wish for Christmas joy.
 

Another time honored tradition here in Warrenton is the annual Virginia Gold Cup race. Steeple chase racing in Fauquier County dates back to 1844. Tickets sell fast, with an average of 50,000 in attendance. There are family activities and contests (best tail gate party theme, etc) and, naturally, the official drink is the Mint Julep.
